Transportation & Public Transit Agenda: Bringing Water to the Northeast Queens Desert

· NYC Ferry Expansion: NYC Ferry service should be extended to cover waterfront communities with neighborhoods that lack mass transit options.
· Reduced Fare Bus Trips: The MTA should reduce bus fares by $1 per ride in neighborhoods with no subway access.
· Return To Sender: NYS should decentralize the MTA’s authority and return control of NYC mass transit operations and capital expenditures to NYC.
· LIRR Shuttle Service: In neighborhoods with no subway access, the city should fund a free shuttle bus service for any building complex with more than 1,000 residents
· Fairer Fares NYC: Expand the discount to cover all college students attending school in the five boroughs, as well as parents accompanying school children on public transit.
· Reduce Commercial Traffic Congestion: Incentivize off-hour delivery through traffic mitigation tax credits — for delivery companies and the receiving business — paid for by allowing businesses to purchase “ticket holidays” that enable their trucks/drivers to park in specified zones without tickets during certain periods.
· Weather Protection: Install Cemusa bus shelters at all Express bus stations to protect commuters from inclement and dangerous weather.
